Assist pharmacist in the filling and dispensing prescriptions in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, supervisors, County employees, elected officials, attorneys, law enforcement, judges, other agencies, and the public.
Comply with Civil Service policies and regulations, collective bargaining agreements, County policies, and laws to create a cooperative, safe, respectful and quality work environment.
Assemble and package medication/supplies for distribution and deliver to designated areas within the Health Center.
Enter and maintain all relevant information for prescriptions and orders and check patient records to ensure prescription order compliance.
Enter and maintain data for patient billing and inventory control.
Conduct inventory and stock medications.
Participate in departmental quality improvement activities.
Mentor other Pharmacy Technicians.
Report to assigned work location with regular, consistent attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned and directed.Education and Work Experience and Other Requirements
Two (2) years of Pharmacy Technician experience required.*
Registered Pharmacy Technician with the State of Nebraska required. Must maintain license throughout the course of employment.
Pharmacy Technician Board Certification (PTBC) required.
Intravenous compounding experience preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel) preferred.
Completion of a pre-employment criminal background check, post-offer physical assessment, drug screen and medical review.
*Equivalent education or training may be substituted for up to six (6) months of experience requirements.

Work is generally performed in a clinic environment within a Long-term Care facility during day-shift hours; however work hours will occasionally vary (e.g. overtime and call-ins). Noise level is usually moderate. Work may be stressful when dealing with multiple priorities time constraints, and/or irate individuals.
Work requires some physical activity including extended periods of standing, frequent walking, reaching and bending, and occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling. An incumbent must have the ability to frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Required sensory abilities include vision, hearing and touch. Visual abilities, correctable to normal ranges include close, distance, and color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Communication abilities include the ability to talk and hear within normal ranges. An incumbent must possess the hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate computers and other equipment and work with small items to perform the essential functions.
